Three Poems (published in Unlikely Stories 12/07)
Three poems by Andrew Dugas, published in Unlikely Stories, December 2007: first communion, sidewalk bar, and we have no past. Read by the author.
Your recurring (well, 2 of 3 poems) theme of fire is interesting to me. I like the twist at the end of the courthouse poem.
Also I remember Salvador - so beautiful and yet so raw and ghetto. It was my favorite part of Brazil. I can hear the Axe drum beats of Olodum now, marching up the cobbled streets.
