Microwaves
This is old, raw. CHECK OUT THE REVISED VERSION: http://dublit.com/stories/microwaves-0 A short story about love, the universe and grocery shopping.
i adore this short story. From your wide use in vocabulary to the usage of subjects, that in any other circumstance, would have nothing to do with one another. You did a flawless job capturing the monotonous sensation of going to the market alone and going home alone. Wonderful work.
I love the tragic and non-apologetic tone: "We are ingredients that combine to make nothing." We are all already dead waiting for the light to stop, waiting for the beep. I'd like to hear another piece about the "you" of this story. A face to accompany the complexity of this relationship.
*Here we combine into nothing.
*My elitism folds back onto itself like the pillow next to me smothers.
*They have thrift store hi-fi.
Sweet Jesus! You are the queen of language which, by implying its meaning indirectly, hits home like a cleanup batter on a bright clear Sunday afternoon.
the intensity and disillusion of this audioshort strike me. grabbing my head from the hair and lifing it up hundred feet from the ground this audioshort makes me see the relations between us and the world in a different way, through the objects of the daily routine. Thank you for this intense contribution.
